Professor, Southern Adventist University

Dr. Lilly Tryon is a family nurse practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience in lifestyle medicine, community health education, and faith-based health ministry. She has a Master’s Degree in Nursing (Drexel University, 2006), a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with an emphasis in lifestyle medicine (Southern Adventist University, 2014), and holds national certifications in lifestyle medicine, health coaching, plant-based nutrition, and exercise physiology. She practices part-time at A Pattern Medical Clinic, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she utilizes a lifestyle medicine approach for preventing, treating, and reversing chronic disease. Her extensive background in faith-community nursing and health ministry led to the development of training workshops and materials for using a coaching approach in church health outreach programs. As a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, she believes that the ultimate key for achieving optimal health and well-being lies in understanding and cooperating with God’s restorative work in humanity, and she is passionate about helping people understand the connection between faith and health.
